'into dark'

I don't remember where this image originated. I know it was abstracted from 'lite con' somehow but that's all can I can say.

I see it as magma boiling and heat escaping into the dark - a metaphor?

The green image is there for completeness.

I feel the 'white' image encapsulates the words 'into dark' the best, for me.
